Playroom Patchwork #2 - Journey of a Quilt Continues!
Journey of a Quilt: Playroom Patchwork Part 2 🧵
Welcome back to Part 2 of our Playroom Patchwork journey! In the last video, we prepared all our rows using the Little Ladies fabric collection. Now that the rows are ironed and organized, it is time to put them all together and add the final borders.
Seeing all the fabrics from my new collection come together in one quilt for the first time is such a milestone, and I am so glad you are following along for the ride.

Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Join Your Rows: Pick up your first two rows and place them pretty side to pretty side. Remember to remove your organizational clip as you sew so you can use it to mark the "top" of your new, larger section [00:13].
2. Match Your Seams: This is the most important part! Pinch, pull, or pleat as needed to make sure your seams line up perfectly. This prevents one row from ending up shorter than the others [01:33].
3. Ironing the Top: Once all ten rows are joined, give the entire quilt top a good press. I don't worry about which direction the seams go, as long as the front is reasonably flat for quilting [04:03].
4. Add the 5" Inner Border: I start by sewing the 5" border to the top and bottom first. Trim the excess fabric once you reach the end of the row [04:40].
5. Add the 6" Outer Border: Follow the same process for the outer 6" border. For the sides, you may need to piece two strips together to get the necessary length [08:14].
6. Finish and Prep for Quilting: After one final iron, your quilt top is ready! I'm sending mine off to be quilted so it's ready for its debut [08:56].
