Picnic Daydreams Rag Quilt Tutorial
I just love a good rag quilt. They are so cozy and "napping-approved," which makes them perfect for picnics or movie nights! 💖 If you have been nervous about trying one, this 10-inch square project is the best place to start because it comes together so fast.
How to Make Your Rag Quilt
- Create the Sandwich: Each block is a little fabric sandwich. Use a 10-inch square face down, two layers of flannel in the middle for extra fluff, and another square face up.
- Sew the "X": I just sew a simple "X" across each block to hold those layers together. It is quick and looks so cute!
- Assemble with Pretty Sides Out: Unlike regular quilts, you put the pretty sides facing out when you sew the blocks together. We want those raw edges on the front so they can fray.
- Seams and Snipping: I use a 5/8 inch seam allowance so there is plenty of room to clip. Once you are done, clip the edges and toss it in the wash to get that beautiful rag look.
