Gauze Baby Blanket

The Sweetest 1-Yard Gauze Baby Blanket! 👶💖

Hello, my sewing friends! I recently saw these high-end gauze blankets at a show and just knew I had to make one for a sweet friend of mine. This project is a total "1-yard wonder" and it is honestly one of the fastest, most precious gifts you can whip up in an afternoon. It is lightweight, breathable, and so soft for a new little one to snuggle.

How to Make It

This blanket is super simple because we are letting the fabric do the work!

  • The Fabric: I used one yard of double gauze fabric. I kept it folded exactly how it came off the bolt to give it two soft layers without any extra fuss.
  • The Binding: You will need four 2.5 inch strips of fabric. I sew mine together to make one long piece. Just remember to backstitch at the start and stop because my grandma said so! 👵
  • The Corners: I use my Oliso mini iron and wool mat to prep the binding so it is nice and crisp. When you sew it on, you will want to miter your corners to get that beautiful, professional look. 🧼✨
  • The Finish: After sewing the binding to the front, just fold it over to the back and top stitch it down. It is "easy peasy" and looks like something you would find in a fancy boutique!

Let’s Sew Something Special! 🌟

I am so happy with how this turned out, and I think it would look just darling paired with a quilt from my new collection!
