Garden Hopscotch Tutorial

I am so excited to share a fun twist on my classic Garden Hopscotch pattern! This variation is all about 2.5-inch squares. I started by sewing colorful and white strips together, cutting them up, and piecing them back together to make the sweetest little nine-patch blocks.

To create the final layout, I am alternating these pieced blocks with solid white squares. It gives the whole quilt such a light, open, and beautiful look! If you ever struggle with quilt math when trying to figure out your sizing, here is a handy trick: lay a bed sheet of your desired size on the floor and fill it up with your blocks, overlapping them just a bit to account for your seams. It works like a charm!

You can check out the full step-by-step process in the Garden Hopscotch Video. I can’t wait to see your versions! Happy sewing, everyone!
