Garden Hopscotch Quilt

Let’s go make the precious Garden Hopscotch pattern! In this video, we tackle one of my absolute favorite quilts. It’s perfect for beginners, intermediate, or advanced quilters because you get so much bang for your buck—it looks like a lot of work, but it’s actually totally attainable and beginner-friendly!

I’ll walk you through how to construct the blocks using straight seams and a simple quarter-inch stitch. All you need are 39 of these pieced blocks and 39 solid white squares. I will show you how to mix up your fabric scraps so the colors are distributed beautifully throughout the finished piece without worrying too much about exact placement. And remember, we’re always going to backstitch when we start and stop, because grandma said so!

Once you have your blocks made and pressed, we’ll sew them into rows of seven, alternating between a pieced block and a solid white square. As we join the rows together, I’ll share my best tips for making sure your seams line up perfectly so you aren't left with uneven edges. I actually have a version of this beautiful quilt on my own bed at home!
