Easy Quilt Design

I am so excited to share this super easy, straight-stitch quilt design that I just made up in my own mind for fun! If you’ve been holding onto a layer cake and a charm pack and aren’t sure what to do with them, this is the perfect project for you.

In this video, I walk you through the entire process—cutting our pieces into 5-inch by 10-inch rectangles and 5-inch squares, and sewing them together to create simple, stunning blocks. We then join our blocks into rows of five, making sure to alternate the direction of each block to get that beautiful, woven look. As we attach our final row to the bottom, I’ll remind you to match those seams perfectly (pinch it, pleat it, or pull it!), and of course, always backstitch when you start and stop, just like grandma said!
