Can You Have Too Many Throw Pillows

Can you have too many throw pillows?

Presley: “Mrs. Tami, do you sew every day?”
Me: “Yes, ma’am, I do. Every! Single! Day!”

Sewing is good for my soul. It is the way that I relax and unload all of this creativity. I love a challenge, but, sometimes, I just want to do some mindless sewing. You know the kind. These are the projects that you’ve made a ton of, and that don’t take a lot of math or focus to make. I am going to introduce you to one of my favorites, pillows.

We can never have too many pillows. We need them to change out our decor on the bed or in the den. We want them for holiday messages or to spruce up a room. Pillow covers are the easiest thing to make and look so nice. They aren’t super time-consuming, so you can whip up a few one afternoon for that new sofa or to match those new curtains you just made.

Presley: “Will you help me make some pillows for my teachers?”

Me: “Oh, Presley, your teachers will love them!”

This is the pattern that Presley used to make her pillows. It is for an 18 inch x18 inch pillow, but it is easily adjustable to any size pillow. Cut your front fabric the size of the pillow. First, if the pillow is 16 inches x 16 inches your front piece of fabric will be 16 inches x 16 inches, then, you adjust your back pieces. They will each be 16 inches x 10 inches. Finally, follow the rest of the pattern, and ta da you have a throw pillow cover!

They make great gifts and are just a good pick me up with the dreary weather outside.

Until next time…
