Beginner Friendly Rag Tote Bag
Let’s go make this precious, beginner-friendly Rag Tote Bag! In this video, we tackle a fantastic quick-win project using simple 5-inch squares.
I’ll walk you through how to sandwich two pieces of flannel between your fabric squares, quilt a simple "X" through the middle of each block, and then sew them together into rows of three. We will join our rows to create the front, back, bottom, and sides of our tote, with a little trick for easily sewing around those corners. Once the bag is assembled, we add some simple cotton webbing for the straps, and then the fun begins—clipping those wide seams to create that adorable, ragged edge! (And of course, we are backstitching at the start and stop of every seam because grandma said so!)
