Baby Block Quilt Tutorial pt.2

We are back for part two of our Baby Blocks Quilt Star tutorial, and it’s time to finally put this beautiful star together! In this video, we pick up right where we left off by joining the top and bottom star points to our quilted center block. Then, we assemble our two side sections by sewing our corner squares to the top and bottom of the remaining star points. (And a funny behind-the-scenes secret: I accidentally sewed my star points upside down the first time and had to redo them! Just a friendly reminder to always double-check your layout before sewing!).

When joining all of our sections, we are going to place our blocks with the pretty sides facing out (back to back) and sew a slightly wider seam than usual, around half an inch. This gives us plenty of room for all that clipping later! (Don't forget to backstitch when you start and stop, because grandma said so!) Once your block is fully assembled, you can start the clipping process, which will create that beautiful rag effect around the corners and the center star. This finished block is absolutely adorable and makes the perfect-sized baby quilt just as it is!
