MSCQ Accessory Store | Snap Tutorial with Miss Shelby
We are still in Hamilton, Missouri, and since y'all have asked me so many questions about how to install snaps on your projects, we are heading right into the Missouri Star accessory store to get some answers! I am so excited to introduce you to Miss Shelby, who is going to walk us through the entire process of setting heavy-duty snaps. Whether you are making bags, clothing, or just adding fun closures to your projects, these snaps are surprisingly simple to install once you know exactly which tools to use.
Miss Shelby showed us that every snap has four pieces: two for the front flap and two for the back section. First, you'll use a sharp awl to puncture a hole through your fabric layers. You insert the flat back piece through the hole, lay the next piece on top, and then use a heavy-duty snap tool (specifically the star end) and a hammer to simply smash the metal down, locking it perfectly in place! To protect the pretty, smooth cap of your snap, be sure to use the little protective disc underneath it before you hammer the top section down.
