How to Thread your Sewing Machine
It is time to take things back to the basics! If you are new to sewing, or if you've ever wanted to pull your hair out because your thread keeps breaking or your bobbin tension is a mess, this tutorial is for you!
In our latest video, I walk you through exactly how I thread a domestic sewing machine. Almost all modern domestic machines thread the exact same way. You just follow the numbered path, catch the take-up lever (remember to roll the handwheel towards you if it's hiding!), and you are good to go.
Here are my two biggest tips for threading success:

Watch the spool notch! Always put the little notch on your spool of thread facing the back. If it faces the front, your thread will eventually catch on it as it spins and snap!

P for Perfect! When loading a drop-in bobbin, make sure your thread makes a "P" shape (thread coming off the left side) before you drop it in. And don't forget to slide it through that little tension notch!
I also share a very controversial bobbin secret that my grandma would probably scold me for... but it saves me an extra step!
